Chapter : When Jae’s Away, Section E Stays

It had only been one day without Jae, and Ava already wanted to tear her hair out.

Jae had left early in the morning for a two-day basketball training camp, and it felt weird not having him hovering over her, dragging her away from trouble, or shooting death glares at any guy who so much as breathed in her direction.

But if she thought she’d get a peaceful day without him, she was dead wrong.

Lunch Break – Section E’s Usual Chaos

Ava sat with her classmates, enjoying their usual banter-filled lunch. Minho was dramatically feeding Lily, Eli was threatening to disown Ava for being a “Jae-obsessed idiot,” and Kai… well, Kai was complaining about his broken heart.

“I can’t believe you betrayed me, Ava,” Kai whined, draping himself over her shoulders. “You were supposed to be mine!”

Ava rolled her eyes. “Kai, get off me.

“NEVER!”

“Minho, grab his leg,” Eli deadpanned.

Minho smirked and reached for Kai, but before he could, a loud voice cut through the cafeteria.

“Well, well, well. If it isn’t the school’s new slut.

The entire Section E froze.

Ava clenched her fists as she turned towards the voice—Dara from Section A. The same girl who had spread nasty rumors about Ava, calling her names ever since Jae started giving her attention.

Kai immediately straightened up. Minho’s jaw tensed. Eli’s playful demeanor turned cold. Section E had one unspoken rule—no one messed with their own.

Dara smirked, flipping her hair. “What? Did I hit a nerve?”

Ava smirked right back. “No, I just wasn’t expecting someone with an IQ of negative two to have the guts to talk to me.”

A few students gasped. Section E erupted into laughter.

Dara’s face reddened with fury. “You really think you’re something, don’t you?” she hissed. “Just because Jae looks at you?”

“Oh, so now I have you obsessed with me too?” Ava tilted her head. “Damn. I must be irresistible.”

Dara snapped.

In less than a second, she lunged at Ava, yanking her hair so hard Ava’s head jerked back.

A few gasps rang out, but before Ava could react—

BOOM.

Dara was ripped away from her so fast, she nearly crashed to the ground.

Kai, Minho, and Eli had snapped.

Kai was holding Dara’s wrist so tightly that her face paled. “Are you stupid?” he hissed, his usual playful tone nowhere to be found.

Minho stepped forward, cracking his knuckles. “I suggest you apologize before I forget that we’re on school property.”

Dara glared at them, trying to yank her hand away, but Kai’s grip didn’t budge. “Let me go, you psychos!”

Eli leaned down, his usual smirk replaced by something dark. “You must have a death wish if you think you can touch Ava and walk away unharmed.”

Ava straightened her clothes, rolling her shoulders. “Thanks, boys, but I got this.”

Kai released Dara, who stumbled backward.

Ava stepped forward, her voice deadly calm. “Say whatever you want about me. Call me names. Spread rumors. I don’t care.” She leaned in, her eyes sharp and taunting. “But the moment you touch me, you pay.

Before Dara could even blink, Ava grabbed a cup of cold water from the table—

And poured it over her head.

The entire cafeteria erupted into shocked gasps and cheers.

Dara stood there, soaked, her face frozen in disbelief.

Ava smiled sweetly. “Oops. My hand slipped.”

The students around them howled with laughter.

Section E? They lost their damn minds.

Minho fist-bumped Kai. Lily was recording everything. Eli looked like a proud older brother.

“Damn, that was sexy,” Kai muttered.

Ava flicked her hair, unbothered. “Next time, Dara? Keep my name out of your mouth.”

Dara let out a frustrated scream before storming out of the cafeteria.

And just like that—Ava had won.

Later That Day – The Aftermath

The moment they stepped back into the classroom, Section E exploded.

Kai threw an arm around Ava’s shoulders. “You absolute legend.

“DID YOU SEE HER FACE?!” Minho laughed. “She looked like she just got dumped at her own wedding!”

Eli smirked. “I’ve never been prouder.”

Lily wiped fake tears. “I love our Ava.”

Ava grinned, enjoying their chaos, until Kai suddenly froze.

“Oh. Shit.

Minho’s eyes widened. “Wait… if that was recorded—”

Everyone paused.

Lily gasped. “Oh my god. Jae is going to see this.

The room went dead silent.

Then—

“OH, WE’RE SO SCREWED.”

Ava paled. “...Maybe he won’t see it?”

Kai snorted. “Ava, it’s Jae. Of course he’s gonna see it.

Ava gulped.

Section E burst into uncontrollable laughter.

Meanwhile – Jae’s Phone Buzzed

Jae sighed as he wiped the sweat off his forehead, sitting on the benches after practice.

Then—his phone buzzed.

Lily: Heyyy husband, you might wanna see this. 👀

Jae raised an eyebrow before clicking on the video.

The second he saw Dara grabbing Ava’s hair, his blood boiled.

And then he saw Ava dumping water on Dara.

A slow, dark smirk crept onto Jae’s lips.

“Damn,” he muttered to himself. “That’s my girl.”
