Chapter Three: Unspoken Claims

Ava didn’t believe in territorial wars.

But apparently, Jae Min-Seok did.

And now, thanks to him, so did she.

It started small. A glance here. A smirk there.

Then suddenly, people were getting soaked, spaghetti was being spilled, and the entire school was obsessed.

It All Started With A Water Bottle.

Ava was standing in the hallway, casually talking to Ryan, a senior who had been a little too flirty for her taste. He wasn’t bad-looking, but he also wasn’t her type. Still, the conversation was harmless.

At least, it was until Ryan was drenched.

Completely soaked from head to toe.

Ava’s eyes widened. "What the—"

Ryan sputtered, shaking off water. "What the hell was that for?!"

Jae Min-Seok stood a few feet away, an empty water bottle in his hand, looking completely unbothered.

He took one look at Ryan and said, "You were overheating."

The hallway exploded.

Liam and Noah had been walking by at the perfect moment, and now Liam was crying with laughter.

"Dude," he gasped. "You did NOT just say that."

Mina, as expected, was already furiously typing on her phone, no doubt spreading the news like wildfire.

Ryan glared at Jae. "Man, do you have a problem?"

Jae’s smirk was lethal. "Yeah. You’re standing too close to something that doesn’t belong to you."

The entire hallway erupted.

Mina screamed.
Noah choked on his drink.
Liam fell to the floor laughing.

Ava?

Ava turned to Jae so fast it was a miracle she didn’t snap her neck. "Excuse me?"

Jae shrugged. "What? I don’t like sharing my things."

Ava narrowed her eyes. "I am NOT your thing, Jae."

His gaze flickered to her lips for half a second before meeting her eyes again. "We’ll see."

Liam fake gagged. "Okay, at this point, I’m BEGGING you two to just kiss. The tension is literally painful."

Ava shot him a glare. "Shut up, Liam."

Jae? Jae just smirked.

And just like that, the game began.

Ava’s Turn.

A few days later, Ava walked into the cafeteria, only to find a shamelessly pretty girl practically draping herself over Jae.

She was laughing too loudly, twirling her hair, touching his arm.

Ava told herself she didn’t care.

At least, she thought she didn’t.

Until she walked past the girl’s table and "accidentally" knocked over an entire bowl of spaghetti.

Directly. Onto. The girl’s lap.

The entire cafeteria went dead silent.

Mina let out a horrified gasp, then immediately started typing. "OH MY GOD—"

Liam spit out his drink. "NO WAY. NO ACTUAL WAY."

Jae?

Jae was just staring at Ava.

Amused. Impressed. And way too entertained.

The girl screeched, jumping up. "What the hell is wrong with you?!"

Ava tilted her head. "Oops. My bad."

The cafeteria lost it.

Liam was banging the table. "SHE DID NOT JUST SAY 'OOPS.' I’M LOSING IT—"

Noah chuckled. "This is getting out of control."

The girl turned to Jae, expecting him to defend her. "Jae, aren’t you going to—"

Jae didn’t even look at her. He was still watching Ava.

Still smirking.

The Whole School Knows.

By the end of the day, Ava and Jae couldn’t go anywhere without hearing whispers.

"They’re definitely dating."
"No, they’re literally enemies."
"Are they in love or just trying to kill each other?"

Liam had fully given up. "At this point, I don’t even care. Just admit you like each other."

Ava scoffed. "I’d rather eat glass."

Jae leaned in, voice low. "Sounds like a fun date."

Ava?

She punched him in the arm.

And just like that, the entire school was hooked.

Because one thing was crystal clear:

Ava and Jae weren’t just rivals.

They were each other’s biggest weakness.

And everyone knew it.
